First of all, the Heat won. And that sucks. I feel like besides anyone that is from Miami, nobody on this planet wants the Heat to win. This is most likely because Lebron is the biggest douche on this planet and thinks that he is better than Michael Jordan. You know what kills me? When the announcers get all fired up and excited and talk about how “LEBRON SCORED 40 POINTS IN TONIGHT’S GAME! WE’VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS!” …..What basketball have you been watching?! Jordan used to score over 40 points in every playoff game….idiots!
So last night was a rare night for me…. I got hammered. I never really drink but last night just kind of happened and holy hangover, I don’t know how people do this all the time. I feel awful today! Waking up today was like walking into traffic and getting hit by a truck. But, I still went to train… it was snatch day, so how could I say no?!
Strength: squat snatch
WOD: 3 ROUNDS WITH 2 MINUTES REST IN BETWEEN EACH ROUND:
5 MINUTE AMRAP
10 power snatch (115/80)
10 toes to bar
5 hand release pushup
The weight got heavy extremely fast today and I felt like puking the entire time. I still can’t stand toes to bar and it’s hard to believe people are able to do 30 or 40 unbroken. After the wod I stayed and did probably a bajillion snatches. Here is what I found to be SUPER helpful when snatching…………..
-line the bar up with the base of your toes
-ass down, chest up
***********fix your eyes on the horizon or higher. I didn’t think something this little would help so much. This entire time, I’ve been looking basically down at the ground in front of me because I guess I wanted to keep my eyes on the bar. But, I guess if you really think about it… why would I need to stare down the bar? I know exactly where it’s going and how it’s supposed to move to get there. Looking up helped a lot when getting under the bar, finding that ‘sweet spot’, and stabilizing! Once you’re stable…. the snatch is cake!
