Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), also called muscle fever, is the pain and stiffness felt in muscles several hours to days after unaccustomed or strenuous exercise.


Every inch of me is so sore that it makes me feel like I have the flu. The doctor said that nothing is torn in my knee and that with a little bit of rehabbing I should be good as new!!! So, as badly as I want to immediately start cleaning and snatching and squatting, I’ll have to start light for a little while.

When you go a long time without doing crossfit (it had been 2 and a half weeks for me)…..HOLY SHIT DO YOU GET SORE! I still get surprised at the parts of my body that are sore…because I really never knew they existed. Yesterday was fun though….

All the parts that were rowing were originally running, but running hurts my knee. If you know me, you know that I despise running…. but in a wod like this, I would’ve so much rather ran than rowed. All that pulling from rowing mixed in with these movements really sucked.

Then I did some power cleans. I was kind of scared to start going heavy so I kept it around 70%-80% weight-wise. I tried dropping down into a full clean with insanely light weight and it still kind of irritated my knee…. so unfortunately, I’ll probably have to hold off on full cleans and snatches for a while.

I haven’t tried squatting yet. I’m sure it wouldn’t be like cleaning, since it isn’t such a fast drop. But being that low with a lot of weight might cause some problems. We’ll just have to see and I’ll just have to not be an idiot this time around. 😉
