Remember how I said that I was trying this thing where I’d stop training like an idiot? Well, I was doing well… until today. My throat has been hurting since the beginning of the week, but I was just so pumped to be back in the gym and able to do everything pre-knee injury that I kind of forgot about it. Today, though, I could barely swallow because my throat was so swollen. It felt like a small midget was breakdancing in my skull, and I was so nauseous that I was even scared to take a sip of water.

You can guess what I did, right?

Yes, I went to go lift. I’m an idiot.

I can honestly tell you that it was a blur. I felt dizzy, tired, my eyes were half shut, my coach asked me if I was high….ugh. I felt so unbelievably slow (which is understandable, I’m on all kinds of cold and flu meds right now). So here’s what I did…or attempted to do:


Snatch Deadlift+ Hang Snatch + 1 Overhead Squats + 1 Snatch Balance

Going through this entire thing 3 times. Add weight to each set…stop when you can no longer finish the entire complex. I stopped early today, because my body sucks.


Deadlift + Hang Clean + 2 Front Squats + Jerk

These felt great. Cleans always feel great for me…. I absolutely love them and feel like I’m good at them. As opposed to snatching, which I hate.

And you know, I heard ice cream and cookies help cure sickness so I inhaled this pile of mouth orgy-ness:


If you’ve never experienced that gelato, EAT IT!!! Eat it before i buy some for you and show up at your house and spoon feed it to you.

Be smart people, and don’t workout if you’re sick. It’s pretty pointless.
