Today was all kinds of fun. Apparently the wod we did was a tribute to Nation Prostrate Day or some shit….. and it was kind of tough!! It was fight gone bad style… but the kicker here is, there’s two ball movements….(get it???) That gave me a good laugh.
In the format of ” Fight Gone Bad ” with a running clock complete…
Three rounds of 1 minute stations:
Wall Ball Shots (20lbs/14lbs)
Power Cleans (135lbs/95lbs)
Box Jumps (20″)
Push Presses (75lbs/55lbs)
I love this type of stuff. The power cleans were definitely the worst… my shoulders and traps were exhausted and the rip on my hand made me bleed on the bar. Which was kind of badass. I hate ball slams. They’re really awkward and just not very fun for me. But hey, balls for a cause guys.
Before the fun wod:
Push Jerk: 70% 3×5
I was going to do my 5×5 of weighted pullups but instead did 5 sets of bar muscle ups. Bar muscle ups are actually fun, as opposed to ring muscle ups, which suck. And bar muscle ups don’t hurt and tear apart my shoulders like the rings do. Then just some messing around with clean and jerks and called it a day.
My quest to not overtrain and do a bunch of crap is going well. I’m hoping that 200 pound clean and jerk and over-my-bodyweight snatch is in the near future…. and by near, I mean before January. We’lll see! Stay smart!
