They’re starting to call Chicago “Chiberia” because of how cold it’s been. Pretty clever, huh?!

Today was absolutely no lifting. I thought that I’d hate a day like today, but it was actually a nice change of pace and definitely helped my hip and shoulder and knee (I’m falling apart!) to not put so much stress on them. Here’s my very short and dirty day:

3 ROUNDS FOR TIME;

10 front rack weighted step ups (I used 115)

8 Turkish get ups (started out with 45, dropped to 40)

6 wall climbs (I HATE THESE MORE THAN ANYTHING ON THIS EARTH!)

4 pistols

The step ups started bothering my hip halfway into the first round…. so I knew it wasn’t going to pretty and it wasn’t going to be a quickie. You know what I’ve learned today? I REALLY suck at turkish get ups and wall climbs. Not at all fluid and efficient… it still shocks me how difficult wall climbs are. And supposedly they’re a progression for handstand pushups?! THERE SHOULD BE PROGRESSIONS FOR WALL CLIMBS! haha! Seriously though, they’re hard enough when you’re fresh, let alone when you’re exhausted.

Then I did:

4×5 Strict Ring dips

Then:

Kipping Ring Muscle ups: 25

Strict Ring Muscle ups: 15

Then some skill work with butterfly pullups…

And that’s all she wrote!

Back to the barbell tomorrow 😉
