GUYS! Today has been quite the eventful day. Let me tell you all about it, because I know how interested you all are! Well, I woke up and had some of my bulletproof coffee. Sensing that today would be JUST CHOCKFULL OF EVENTS (slight sarcasm there…), I threw in some extra butter and coconut oil. A girl needs some sustenance, ya know? Then I marched off to my extra boring classes, fit in my first session in between, and showed up nice and sweaty to my last class…which ended around 1. Now, here’s where it gets juicy. I drive a sweet ass Honda Pilot. 2005 model, YEAHHH!!! So it’s kind of old school, and with all the driving back and forth, it was time I took that bad boy in for a high mileage oil change and a tire rotation. I brought some notes with me since I have too many exams/papers to count next week, thinking it would only take an hour or so. Well, apparently the car places in Macomb are on Hawaii time….. they told me it would take 3 and a half hours! Holy shit! So, I somehow navigated the bus system and found my way back to my apartment…. after sitting at the bustop and transferring buses in the freezing cold for a good 35 minutes. This is me, freezing my ass off.

Ha! I thought it was pretty funny. I was smiling under there.

So, I get back to my apartment complex, and realize… OH SHIT! They keys that I left with the auto guys have the keys to my apartment building AND the keys to my actual apartment door. Well, shit. I trekked over to the front office and told them my idiotic story, acting all animated and what not. They laughed, thought it was hilarious, and let me into my apartment. SCORE! Then I devoured my first meal of the day, which didn’t happen until about 2:45….

How much fat could ya fit on one plate? A whole avocado, ground pork, chorizo, butter slathered broccoli…. YES!

So, let’s talk about my first session of the day:

Front Squat: 5 sets x 3 reps @ 80%

Strict Overhead Press: 5 sets x 3 reps @ 80%

WOD: 

1 Round of DT:

12 Deadlifts

9 Hang Power Cleans

6 Push Jerks

1 Round of Cindy:

5 Pullups

10 Pushups

15 Air Squats

Complete this entire sequence for 4 sets. Start off with 115/75 and add 10 pounds to each round. Nice and spicy!

Then, to cap off the day, I got a lil’ bit complex…

Power Clean + Push Press – 75% (of Push Press) 2(2+1) x 5. So, basically, this is how ONE SET looks: Power Clean + Power Clean + Push Press + Power Clean + Power Clean + Push Press.

Snatch Push Press: 5 sets x 3 reps @ 70% of snatch

Quite a fun-filled day, if you ask me. Shit happens sometimes and if you approach it with a shitty attitude, it will probably only get worse. I thought what happened to me was pretty funny. We all make mistakes.. some big ones, some silly ones, some seemingly earth-shattering ones…. but we need to learn to forgive ourselves. It has taken me quite some time to do this, being a person who is incredibly hard on myself…. and I beat myself up over just about everything. But, let me tell you something. If there is no way, in your own mind, that you can win, or deserve something good, or be good enough, then YOU, not surprisingly, will never win, will never deserve anything good, and will never be good enough. Attack the day, folks!
