So, the f unny stories and bad luck are coming at me full force this weekend! Remember on Friday how I told you about my car story? Forgetting my keys to my apartment at the car dealer, taking sketchy buses home, all that? Well, Friday night, my computer crashed. Yeah. So I didn’t get to post what I did on Saturday, even though it wasn’t much:

Snatch: Work triples and doubles at about 70%. Was supposed to go for a heavy single, but instead I wanted to take an hour to nail in technique and some weak spots. Then…

Weighted Strict Pull ups: 7 sets x 3 reps (35-45# added)

MOBILITY: TAKE 30 MINS TO WORK ON FLEXIBILITY

So this morning, I wake up to realize that my power is out. I laughed out loud and said, “SERIOUSLY?! WHAT OTHER BULLSHIT YA GOT FOR ME?!” ¬†Luckily, someone had called in the outage and the power was up and running a couple hours later. But, my Mac is still frozen. So I’m posting this from the ghetto school computer. Yeah… BUT, I did get in a great workout today. Because endurance work and gymnastics skill work bores me to death, I figured I’d just throw it all into a big long wod. Well… it was fun… about half an hour after it was over. This is the closest I’ve come to throwing up in a wod (I’ve never in my life thrown up from anything workout related.). But first, I did some cleans.

Clean: 5 sets x 3 reps @ 70%

WOD: “Pukie”

45 minute AMRAP:

10 thrusters (115/80)

15 toes to bar

15 dead hang strict pull ups

100m run

500m row

What a frickin killer. Thrusters were easy, toes to bar sucked, and those strict pullups got to be nearly impossible. I was doing doubles and singles towards the end. The worst part, though, was the row… nothing like completely burning out your legs and lungs to get you ready for 3 movements that suck! This will become a weekly thing. When I looked at the clock on my phone (counting down from 45) , it said 22 minutes. Holy shit, I have to do this for 22 Minutes?!?!?! ¬†For a quick second I considered making it a 30 minute amrap. “Kayla, you could be done in 7 minutes. This could be the end.” But I hate giving up , so I obviously grinded it out until 45 minutes was up. It took me a good 20 minutes to recover from that son of a bitch of a wod. Mental toughness, folks.
