After taking 2 full days off from the gym and spending time with some big ass puppies, I can honestly say…. that I don’t really feel much better. I keep hearing about people saying they feel rejuvenated and raring to go and rested….. not me. Lifting today felt like ass and my entire body felt like a slow, limp noodle. This awesome bison burger last night clearly did not do its job today…
So, yeah. Today I got off to a rough start and things seemed to just keep getting rougher. The weight seemed insanely heavy, I had no groove or rhythm, and it took me almost an hour to get warmed up. My knee was hurting so bad that I had to stop, my shoulders couldn’t stabilize shit, and I am just under a lot of stress and am thinking way too much. Note to self: don’t try to do the olympic lifts well if your mind is racing.
Snatch: 60% x 3, 65% x 3, 70% x 2, 75% x 2, 80% 2 reps x 3 sets (Looked okay, but felt so incredibly heavy…. and was missing weight that I absolutely should NEVER miss..)
Push Press: 70% x 5, 75% x 5, 80% x 3, 85% 3 reps x 2 sets
Back Extensions: 3 sets x 10 reps + 25# added
GHD Situps: 20 total
Strict Ring Dips: 20 total
Weighted Pullups: 20 total with 25-50 pounds added across sets
Then I went home, took a 2 hour nap, and came back for redemption. Well, wasn’t really redemption… but whatever.
Power Snatch + Snatch: 60% x 3, 65% x 2, 70% x 2, 75% x 1, 80% x 1 (Knees could hardly stand it anymore… so I stopped.)
3 ROUNDS, 30 SECONDS OF WORK FOLLOWED BY 1 MINUTE OF REST:
30 Seconds- Burpees
30 Seconds- Kettlebell Swings (I used 88#)
30 Seconds-Empty bar thrusters
So, you do 3 rounds at EACH MOVEMENT before moving on to the next one.
