Today kicked off to an amazing start…. it was RAINING FRICKIN’ PR’S AT THE DEN!!!! Everyone following the Olympic program for the last 4 weeks made their max attempts today in the snatch, clean and jerk, and back or front squat. And….. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM PR’D!!!!! It was unbelievable to watch and the energy in the room was insane. I think I got more excited and proud for people than they did for themselves! SO HAPPY!!!! Because I know how special a PR feels and to realize that all of your hard work has paid off. Just incredible!
I didn’t post yesterday because my day of training was kind of boring and stupid… I couldn’t do much of anything because my knees hurt so badly (even just dipping in a push press hurt…). Here’s what I did, though:
Thursday, June 19th:
Power Snatch: Work up to a heavy double
Bench: 3 reps x 10 sets
3 Rounds Knee-Hab:
1 Minute Airdyne
10 Leg Extensions
Today, on the other hand, was a different story. The screamo/heavy metal music BLASTING, the sound of weights crashing, people screaming at each other to get the weight up, and watching everyone max out…. well, I went for a max on my snatch! Wasn’t really planned and I probably shouldn’t have because of my knees and fucked up elbow/shoulders, but I’m actually pretty happy that I was able to move the weight with speed and force and get under it in a good position. No PR for KP though. I don’t think I’ll be maxing out for a while. Here’s what I did today:
No Hook No Feet Power Snatch: Work to a max for the day
Snatch: Max for the day
Toes to bar with 12 Pound Wall Ball in between feet: 3 sets x 5 reps
Muscle Up with 12 pound Wall Ball in between feet: 1 rep x 5 sets
Deadlift: Work up to a max (I HIT A PR HERE!)
The video cut it out, but I hit 315 for a 5 rep max.
5 Minute EMOM:
5 hang power cleans (135/95)
Overall just a great ass day. Next week I’ll be in Colorado from Monday to Friday, which kind of fucks up my training plans a little bit… but I guess my knees and shoulders and elbow can use the break.
